Oil Change

No matter how good the oil is, eventually it degrades as the additives get used up.  This is why your oil needs changed regularly.

How often you change your oil will depend on what kind of car, how often you drive and what type of oil you choose.  The best course of action is to follow your owners manual but a rule of thumb is every 3 months or 3,000 miles, whichever is first.  You may go on a road trip and burn through a few thousand miles in a few weeks, or it may take five months before you reach the recommended mileage.  But when you reach one of those markers, its time for a change.  If your driving in extreme weather or towing a lot of weight behind your vehicle, you may need to change it earlier.

When to Have Your Brakes Serviced

Often the first indication of brake issues is how the vehicle feels.  You may notice a vibration or notice that the brake pedal does not react until its been pressed to the floor.  Another sure indication is the squeal or screeching sound, usually this is a high pitched noise when slowing down.  These sounds occur when the brake pads need to be replaced.  So when your brakes feel different or you hear them squeal or screech, it is time to contact Cross Automotive for an inspection.
